Keep It Current!

The essential process for every WordPress site. We update your WordPress core, theme, and plugins. We also test all updates for compatibility to avoid down time. Updates should never go overlooked.

Keep It Working!

When development stops on your installed applications, we find suitable solutions or alternatives to keep your WordPress site up-to-date and running smoothly through technical support.

Keep It Safe!

WordPress can easily become a target for hackers. We proactively take extra steps at the start of your plan to lock your site down and reduce the risk of potential threats to your site.

Website Audit

Starts with a light audit of your site’s backend to make sure that there are no “red flags’ on the horizon.  After the audit is complete, we advise with a report of any issues found that require immediate attention.  Under most circumstances… these fall into the “updates” category which in turn affect your security.

Create Initial Backup

Before any changes are attempted on your site, a full up-to-date back up of your database, WordPress core files and plugins is created.  This crucial step is should not be avoided as some updates can break your site’s functionality.  Having the option to revert to the last known working version of your site will save a-lot of time and headaches.

Update WordPress CMS

WordPress releases new versions of its CMS (content management system) periodically. It is important to test and run these updates on your site, because they address security, stability, and performance.

Update the Theme

Your Theme is under constant development to ensure compatibility with the newest version of WordPress and avoid security threats, which is what makes the updates so important.  In some cases, if your theme is no longer under development, you may want to think about a redesign using a more reputable theme from a developer that has a long track record in the industry. In such cases, we consult and advise with the best possible solutions to overcome the obstacle and keep your web presence intact.

Backups and Monitoring

After successfully accomplishing all updates, we run a manual backup again and keep the newly backed up site as the most current up-to-date version.  It is fair to note that most web hosting companies create backups for you. However,  the backups are kept on their servers.  It’s important to keep off-site backups for an additional layer of peace of mind.  Ideally, you should have at least 2 locations to make sure you will not loose your site completely if a problem were to arise with your hosting co.
